“But, P’!” Gun protested, the children looking at this big baby curiously.
“No buts,” Off said. “You didn’t let me pay the whole bill earlier, plus I was the one who mentioned it to you.”
Gun harrumphed. “If that’s the case, then maybe we shouldn’t get ice cream after all.”
The ice cream seller interfered. “Aiyo, these kids. Young man,” to Gun he said, “just let this man of yours pay for it. Aiyo. Aiyo.”
Gun blushed a pretty scarlet hue. He objected, “Sir, he’s not my man!”
“Yet,” said Off with a smile.
“What he said,” the seller nodded.
